We just got a female Shiba Inu puppy after muuuuuch pestering by the girls. I have never owned a dog before - a lovely experience thus far, even if she is frightened of me still. And I have never been stopped so often on the street in my life.
(The breeder told me to play hard to get and she'll come around. I'm being all Cary Grant on her now ...)

Dogs are marvelous.
I'm still in mourning over our last one, a Golden Retriever who was absolute sweetness.
