Title VII and Firefighter Promotions

Speaking as a former EEO Administrator of a large city, I believe the U.S. Supreme Court's decision in Ricci v. DeStefano is to be commended. Of course, you'll be able to find plenty of folks on the other side and we'll be hearing much more about this case in the future.

What about female firefighters. There should have been six categories that all had to be balanced, it's only fair, and by the way I have a disability, what about me.

Shouldn't the best people get the job regardless of all the other things.

Just think with the cost of all the legal advice they could have bought a couple of flash new fire fighting vehicles or provided more training opportunities, that would have been of much more use.
