Management Question: The Basics
If the basics are so obvious, why aren't we doing them?

I like to watch competitive cooking shows - all of them appeal to me for some reason. I was watching "MasterChef" last week and Graham Elliot demonstrated how the pros do it by creating a dish in the same amount of time - only his dish was truly high end quality.
Anyway the point I found interesting in this is when the other two judging chefs asked Graham for a tip on how to cook like a pro, Graham said to be constantly cleaning your station, which is about as basic as is possible to get, but without which it is impossible to acheive the kind of greatness he was able to.

Dan,
That's a great example!
Too many people look for the exotic solution as opposed to vigorous execution of the elementary.
