The ducks nibble away at your time.
They ask "Got a minute?" and it always takes more than a minute. They slip in via the open door policy and murder your schedule. They bring up issues which deserve none of your time and seek off-the-cuff decisions on matters that deserve further study.
Left unchecked, they will reverse roles and monitor your progress on projects which they should have handled. They are experts at reverse delegation.
Beware of the ducks.
