Is Listening Reading?

Ann Althouse (and Stephen King!) on whether listening to an audiobook is the equivalent of reading.

I'm a book snob but see nothing wrong with audiobooks. They are great companions on long drives, efficient ways to absorb information, and can gloriously bring out the beauty of the written word.
