I'm sure the erudite Mr. Ledeen has chosen well, but I would like to add the name and writing of Vali Nasr to any reading list about Iran. I caught him on C-SPAN one morning and was impressed. Later I ordered The Shia Revival, published last year. It's dense reading, but the more I read, the more nuances I find. That snip by his friend Gerecht ["How do you know when Iranians aren't lying to themselves?" Mr. Gerecht doesn't know. How could he? They themselves don't...] was a cheap shot. I'm really tired of that they're-all-liars meme.
