Unaccountable: San Francisco


Is San Francisco the worst-run big city in America? Check out the article by Benjamin Wachs and Joe Eskenazi:

. . . This year's city budget is an astonishing $6.6 billion — more than twice the budget for the entire state of Idaho — for roughly 800,000 residents. Yet despite that stratospheric amount, San Francisco can't point to progress on many of the social issues it spends liberally to tackle — and no one is made to answer when the city comes up short.

This has nothing to do with "accountability" or the lack there of. The City of San Francisco has elected officials who have pursued liberal ideals through liberal policies. It's the failure of these ideals and policies that is on display and has doomed the current mayor's chance of being elected governor of California (a liberal state also pursuing liberal policies) - 'Not like there is a pattern anywhere to be found here...
