First Paragraph

Years of experience have taught me that leaders and followers come in many shapes and sizes. The more leaders I encounter, the more difficult I find it to describe a typically effective leadership style. The same can be said about leader/follower relationships. The explosion of studies on leadership has made answering the question of which styles are preferable to others a remarkably difficult business. The most suitable response is probably that it all depends: obviously, different situations warrant different styles of leadership.
