I'm giving a presentation today on ethics.
Aside from reviewing the topic around a gazillion times, I carefully chose which colors to wear and wisely ruled out the Calvin and Hobbes tie a nephew once gave me.
This may be superstitious in part but I wear some ties to meetings and others to training or speeches because I've found that audiences react differently - or perhaps I perform differently - depending on the tie.
That's one reason why I found David Johnson's article on the psychology of color to be interesting. Most of us have read about the effects of color before but sometimes it helps to have a reminder.
One simple rule: If the color or garb distracts from your message, it's a problem.
