Bah, Humbug!

Is there a more worthless holiday than New Year's?

It has to be right up there with Groundhog Day.

I completely agree. I live in NYC, and people dress up like it's the greatest night of the year and you "MUST be doing something spectacular." They wear jeans to church and sweats to court but put a $500 on the gold card for a night that's over in the blink of an eye.

Amateur Day.

I am (among other things) a recreational and a professional driver.

I try very hard to avoid being on the road between 2300 Amateur Day Eve and 0300 Amateur Day.

Seems like Schneider (or maybe it was Werner) ordered all company drivers to park it during that period, approximately.

Daughter (who drives for Seward now) thinks Schneider "strongly suggested" parking, Werner required it.

Didn't think to ask if Seward has a policy, but given the business is so bad she will probably be parked anyway. They do apparently have a policy forbidding them to drive I70 west of Denver in the winter.

I don't drive for anybody anymore, so I am sort of out of touch.
