Quote of the Day

Colleagues of [accused Ponzi scheme operator and investment firm owner Bernard Madoff] said he was fair to those he dealt with and generous to charities including the Special Olympics. Mr. Madoff treated employees well and loved to take friends and colleagues onto his 55-foot fishing boat, called Bull, said Frank Christensen, a retired BYSE broker.

"I really think very highly of him," said Mr. Christensen. "People make mistakes."

[Execupundit tip: Always check the name of their boat.]

Christensen is obviously one dumb one. Madoff stole 50 BILLION dollars. That's BILLION folks. Madoff's wife and kids have lived like KINGS for many years thanks to daddy's business practices. I bet there are many like Madoff out there and thanks to the banks collapsing soon they will all grace the front pages of the NY TIMES!

Madoff has been stealing for years but only on paper is he a nice guy!!! So does that count?

Sounds like Christensen was one of those guys who didn't have anything monetary to do with Made-Off (w/ billions).
Those (literally) poor suckers who were drawn in by, among other things, his "niceness" are the ones whose quotes I've been reading.
