It is a bold decision to think of a matter as minor.
We frequently do so, of course, and often later learn that our designation of priorities was skewed. The big honking issue that jumps on our desk and kicks papers out of its way may well be the item that can be safely ignored while the quiet, seemingly trivial, issue, event (or lack of event) may seize us by the throat in a couple of months.
Time increases the significance of such items and they can produce results far greater than a cursory analysis would conclude. In that sense, life resembles accupuncture - pressure in the ear lobe may affect the foot - and it can be reckless in the extreme to ignore the little things. Some appear little and are. Others appear little and are huge. Wisdom entails knowing the difference.
