Gleaning guidance from a great philosopher is an easy call but some resources are more of a stretch and yet their lessons can be equally valuable. Some examples of fiction that have sparked thoughts about management:
- Moby Dick
- War and Peace
- A Confederacy of Dunces
- Nobody's Fool
- Julius Caesar
- Macbeth
- The Last Hurrah
- The Edge of Sadness
- Jayber Crow
- Bleak House
Are there any unconventional resources that have been of use to you?

I wouldn't call it "guidance"...but lately I've been listening to John Fogarty on my way to work in the morning which starts me up with a great attitude!
Jeff,
Good choice!
Starship Troopers contains some interesting statements about leadership (delegating, serving the organization and one's direct reports).
I'll have to check out Starship Troopers. I've heard the book was far better than the film.
Currently, H.G.Wells "The Fate Of Man" and "The Neon Bible".
I've been meaning to read "The Neon Bible" for years!
