Suggested Rule

If you say that a "new and improved" procedure or device will be simpler than its predecessor, the simplicity should be obvious to the average user. Elaborate explanations are a sign that things may not be so simple.

I asked a salesmen once how this software program would make my business better. He replied that if I couldn't see it(why) then there was no point in him continuing a conversation with me, as I was living in the dark ages. All I was asking was did he understand my business. I did think his attitude was a bit stupid, anyway he left never to be seen again....
