Wargaming Future Crises

Here's a good article from a corporate security consultant on the importance of wargaming potential business crises.

The point about the sleeper crisis is excellent. I strongly believe that all large organizations should have a small office of thinkers whose sole job is to identify things that can go wrong. Don't tell me that the executives and managers are hired to do that. The short answer is, "They won't because they lack the time and the inclination to think of such things. They got into their positions by being positive can-do types."

The ability to spot crisis is more likely to be found in some Liberal Arts grad who read Beowulf than in an MBA who memorized Drucker.
