"You notice they didn't mention Ed's name in the program materials?"
"They probably forgot. Clark wasn't in there either."
"I think they left out Ed because he crossed Alice on the Riverton project."
"Alice didn't have anything to do with the program."
"Yeah. Maybe. But she has a lot of influence and she's very vindictive. Mary was on the program committee and I saw her with Alice in the cafeteria the other day. Do you think that was just a coincidence?"
"I've seen both of them in the cafeteria many times along with around a hundred other people. Were the others in on it?"
"You're pretty innocent, aren't you?"
"Hold on. If they were involved in some conspiracy against Ed and having coffee together is evidence of that, wouldn't they avoid being seen together?"
"If they avoided one another, that would be suspicious. This way, it just looks natural. Don't be so naive."
