I read this to my husband who said, "The computer may have brought an end to typewriters but the calculator still hasn't superseded the abacus."

Not quite dead yet.Swintec, a New Jersey company, is still making typewriters under its own name. True - they're manufactured outside the US, but most of them are brought right back here.Their biggest customers? The government...and prisons.Go figure. Must be some connection.- Jeff
