Thanks for sharing that, Michael. Three things (that I can think of) bear comment. First, all of the top earners write fiction. Second, all of the top earners have dozens of books in print. They make big advances, but huge residuals. Third, two of the top five, Patterson and Clancy have reconstituted themselves as "brands" and have others writing a majoring of what comes out under their names.

Good points. Too many publishing firms, in their quest for the next best-seller, pass over authors who once would have been developed.
